The Perfect Matcha Latte Recipe
A well-made matcha latte is one of the most rewarding drinks to prepare at home. It’s quicker than running to a café, more budget-friendly, and—if you choose your matcha wisely—far superior in flavor. We’ve tested this recipe hundreds of times, and it has become a daily ritual for many of our team.

Ingredients (Serves 1)

2g ceremonial or mid-grade matcha (roughly 1.5 scoops with a chashaku)
30ml water at 75°C (for the concentrated matcha)
200ml milk of your choice (oat milk works wonderfully for sweetness and froth, but whole milk is richest; almond milk is thinner but great cold)
1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, but great for beginners)
Pinch of sea salt (optional—brings out natural sweetness)

Prepare the Matcha Concentrate

Sift your matcha into a bowl to remove clumps. Add 30ml of 75°C water and whisk vigorously in a W-motion for about 30 seconds until fully combined and slightly frothy. This small, concentrated base is what gives the latte its vibrant flavor. (Check our guide on “How to Whisk Matcha” for tips.)

Heat and Froth Milk

Warm your milk to roughly 65°C—hot but not boiling. Froth it using a hand frother, a steam wand, or by shaking in a jar. Oat milk creates great foam, whole dairy milk is extra creamy, and almond milk works especially well for iced versions.

Assemble the Latte

Pour the matcha concentrate into your cup first. Slowly add the frothed milk, holding back the foam with a spoon, and then spoon the foam on top at the end. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup, and add a pinch of salt if desired. Stir gently for a smooth, balanced latte.

Iced Matcha Latte

For a chilled version, prepare the matcha concentrate the same way. Fill a glass with ice, add cold milk, and pour the matcha over it. Watch the beautiful green swirl as it blends with the milk.

Troubleshooting

Too Bitter? Add a touch more sweetener or try a higher-grade matcha. See our guide “Why Does My Matcha Taste Bitter?”
Lumpy Texture? Always sift your matcha and whisk thoroughly before adding milk.
Not Vibrant Enough? Increase matcha to 3g or choose a premium powder for a deeper green color.
This version keeps your latte smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced whether you serve it hot or iced.

Koalas: Icons of Australia’s Bush—Biology, Threats, and the Fight to Save Them

With their fluffy grey fur, large round ears, and endearing habit of clinging to eucalyptus trees, koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus) have captured the hearts of people worldwide, becoming one of Australia’s most iconic wildlife symbols. These gentle marsupials draw millions of tourists to the continent each year, their presence synonymous with the rugged beauty of Australia’s bushland. Yet behind their cuddly appearance lies a species grappling with unprecedented threats: habitat loss, climate change, disease, and human-wildlife conflict have pushed koalas to the brink of crisis. In 2025, the IUCN Red List classifies them as Vulnerable, while they are listed as Endangered in Queensland, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory under national law. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and its partners have been at the forefront of efforts to protect koalas, from rehabilitating injured individuals to restoring their habitats and advocating for stronger conservation policies. This exploration delves into the fascinating biology of koalas—dispelling myths, uncovering their unique adaptations—and examines the urgent challenges they face, as well as the collective action needed to ensure their survival for generations to come.

Traditional Ethnic Clothing Across the Globe

Traditional Ethnic Clothing Across the Globe

The clothes we choose to wear often suit the occasion at hand whether it’s a business meeting, a Sunday hike, or a night out with friends and they can also reflect our mood or give a glimpse of our personality. But clothing is more than just a personal choice; it carries national significance too. Traditional ethnic wear, with roots in specific historical periods, embodies the culture and identity of a particular ethnic group and is frequently tied to social and religious standing. In many parts of the world, Western-style clothing has become common, with traditional garments reserved for special events and festivals. Yet, in places like Bhutan, citizens still wear their ethnic attire in everyday public life.
